When the muse speaks
you listen. So I'm writing. Writing madly. The office is filled with post-it notes and random receipts and now I have this gigantic sketchpad out and I'm filling it with words that don't make any sense yet and I have no idea where this is going but please, God, don't let me run out of paper or coffee today because I need it. I'm grateful to have a husband that understands this mania, this filth that covers the loft with the scent of an unwashed body and hair that is all over the place and a mind that still thinks I'll have time to paint after my body has purged itself of this story.

It's like an exorcism, writing.

For the love of all that's holy and our lady Retail, go and vote in the Nametag Challenge.

Karma

I'm now a true believer in Karma.

Meet Dicky Dickerson. He was my first manager at the bank, same age as myself, and hated me. After he said something to me, he would say, "Now repeat it back to me." It was his way to be sure I was listening to him, and also his way of staying in the Dick Hall of Fame. I believe his hatred for me was taken to the next level when he I told him that ignorant did not mean rude.

So back to Karma. Yesterday, all employees of the bank received a forwarded email from Dicky, completely proving his dicky-ness. In the email, he demoralized an employee and the employee responded back. Dicky, I'm sure, was trying to forward to email to his regional manager, but instead hit reply all, forwarding his dickish email to all colleagues of the bank.

It nearly brought a tear to my eye and I smiled. That's karma, Dicky.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Monday Morning Affirmations (part 4)
Wow! A whole month of Monday Morning Affirmations? You'd think that by now I would have found my spiritual center... At the very least, I'm fighting the evil Retail zombie soul suckers ;)

1) Because the holidays are nearing, I will allow myself to be grateful for one thing that Retail has given me: the weekends off and Christmas on a Friday. It's almost as if the stars have aligned!

2) If I get angry, I will take deep breaths, loudly, as a warning to those around me (kinda like a rattlesnake).

3) I will enjoy the sounds of the season, one slow Silver Bell at a time.

PS: I need your help! Go over to the Nametag Challenge and VOTE! The Contest ends 12/5!
